Mozart is one of the oldest, most heavily featured muds that
exists on the net. The world has close to 30,000 rooms, divided
into 300 zones. The world is divided into two realms. The
largest, the Surface Realm, is the most newbie friendly and the Underdark
are far more dangerous realm which allows player killing.

Mozart is a rent free (really it is totally free).

Mozart provides an inbuilt mud client. So that you can setup your own
aliases for your character. Wherever you log on you will have these
aliases. Also there are fully customizable prompts, full ansi color settable
to whatever scheme you desire, also spam filters for combat, movement
and communication.

There are 99 levels of mortal play and then here are 11 avatar levels
for the brave. There are over 10 different classes with many possibilities of
multiclassing. There are also an extensive number of races to choose from,
all with there own special skills, weaknesses, resistances and other benefits.

There is extensive new player support (help newbie) and an introduction to
Mozart (aka Mini-mud) which gives new players an easy way to learn the
commands - especially for a newbie mudder.

Come and give Mozart Mud a try telnet://mozart.atpnet.com:4500

As an newly inducted immortal and long time player at Mozart, I have
thoroughly enjoyed many of the areas on Mozart, though I know I have
not ventured into even 3/4ths of the rooms available. Not only is the
world vast and complex, the areas are extremely well written and many
areas are in a state of restoration.

**I also wanted to mention the exciting news that the Bronze
Expedition (a challenge specially designed for lower leveled players)
has been reconstructed and reopened for the players of Mozart. Three
other challenges exist for higher level players and personal quests
are available for the truly adventurous. Worldwide quests, arenas, are
also a great way to learn more about the world and join fellow players
in tests of endurance and skill.

Mozart is truly a great experience for anyone, both newly involved mud
explorers and old veterans. Come visit us and give us a try. :)

Indeed - I have fond memories of treading my newbie-shoes on
MozartMUD back in '93. It was the mud that sparked my interest
in mudding, and proably one of the reasons I'm still in this
community. I haven't been back for 8 years, though, due mostly
to rl and other aspects of mudding - starting my (co-)own,
programming and building.
Keep up the good work!

Great to hear from a previous player! Your comments are the best
compliment I think Mozart can possibly receive. Thanks so much for
taking the time to post and please do look us up (me) when you have
the time. Luck with your own ventures and do stop by sometime to say
hello. :)
