From what I've read this group isn't active, but here goes...

I've been working for some time with a few accomplices to modify the
UltraEnvy codebase. We added many classes, skills, and miscellaneous
features as well as a large number of original areas. After getting it
to a point where we feel it's time to let some others play around with
the actual game, it comes time to host it. Probably a dumb question,
but would a T1 connection be plenty to host 10-20 people comfortably?
Lag is the one thing that will drive me away from a MUD faster than
anything else, and I'd like some info on reducing it. Thanks.

Yes especially if you utilize MCCP. I think that can reduce the size of
data transfers by like 60% or more.

Yes. In fact, for games this size, a 256k cable connection would suffice.
Any lag wouldn't be noticeable.

I've been using cable connection for going on 2 years? I think
upstream is capped at 128k? Most players dont lag. (There's always a
joker that has lag problems, you cant please EVERYONE.)
