Looking for a mud

I've recently started playing Aardwolf, and I think it's really fun, but
it's been going down a lot lately.

I'm looking for another mud to go to when that one is down. I've been
searching mudconnector but haven't really hit on one I like yet.

Muds I've enjoyed in the past have been Voltavia (a small Smaug mud, now
down, I think), and Whitesands, (even though whitesands was way too hard).

I'm looking for a mud that offers remorts, quests, and doesn't enforce role
playing. I enjoy a mud more if I can go to areas easily, so I'd need a mud
that either had speedwalks and maps built in, or had fan sites with maps and
speed walks.

One of the problems I had at Whitesands was that the quest mob would give me
a quest, and I wouldn't know how to get to the area, much less how to get to
the mob in the area.

Everyone told me to explore, but that was a good way to hit death traps.

I like muds where level 30 eq is in level 30 mobs. One of the muds I went to
had a crazy system where level 30 eq ended up in level 50 mobs. People were
forced to group in order to get eq or decent experience. I like grouping,
but I don't want to be forced to group.

Rubystars,

Just to let you know Mozart Mud offers remorts, quests and doesn't
enforce role playing. If you are after a slightly easier place to
play I would recommend playing a Surface race rather then in the
Underdark. The Mozart Mud website
http://mozart.atpnet.com/surface.html offers a list of all the Areas
in the mud. There is a map which doesnt give you exact directions to
each area but will provide a guide.
Also maps can be found throughout the map especially at the
Cartographer in Nevrast City. Most mortals are more then happy to
help you get to other areas and explore.

Mozart Mud does have deathtraps but they are not positioned in the
middle of heavily trafficed paths. You can scry into all the
deathtraps and in especially lowere level areas very easy to spot.
Also it should be noted hitting a deathtrap does not mean that you
lose all your equipment, but you do however die. However, the same
forces that killed you will have taken a heavy toll on your equipment,
which will sustain quite a bit of damage. This can be mostly fixed by
a repairer. See http://mozart.atpnet.com/death.html for more
information regarding Death in Mozart Mud.

Hope to see you on Mozart Mud

Ok, I don't need everything laid out for me, but I do like to have some
guidance on how to get where I need to go.

Do all races/classes get scry?

Ok. :) The worst thing about death traps on some of the muds I've been in is
that you lose every bit of equipment you have. It always paralyzed me from
wanting to explore because I'd worked so hard to collect or buy a full set
of armor and weapons and then I didn't want to step in the wrong direction
and lose all of them.

That's pretty cool. :) Are the repairers mobs that you pay money to?

No not all races get scry but a scry spell is available to most spell
classes as well as available from magic shops in both potion and
scroll formats. Also you can find equipment which has the spell
affect of scry to help you in your journey.
To see the special traits of each race check out
http://mozart.atpnet.com/rstats.html
If you like the inate ability to scry then you can choose to be a
Minotaur.

Yes there are repairer mobs which fix most of your damaged items.
These can be easily found in the Surface and Underdark realm

See you at Mozart Mud

Try checking out this one, Thieves World.

125 Levels
Over 20 Races
10 Classes
Multi-Classing
Multi-playing
Remort for pure class
Large world with directions on website.
Equipment auctions
Equipment Donation Room
Ability to DM stats.
Newbie Friendly
Active Immortal Staff
Questing Staff
(Currently running our own version of Survivor)
Quest Token hunts
Custom Crafted Items
And much much more.....

Our equipment is spread over all different mobs, but one advantage we do
offer is you can find equipment with randomly generated bonus loads on
even low level mobs. So, it makes even the lowbie areas worth
investigating *grin*

We have been up for over 100 days straight with very little down time.

Unlike some muds we do not currently run an auto questor, prefering to
have a questing team who can issue quests depending on the number and
level of players on at any given moment.

We are not new either, the games code base has been in use now for
around 10 years and is constantly evolving and being improved.

Why not come and give us a look, we do not claim to be the best, we do
not claim to be perfect, all we do know is, Thieves World IS addictive.
