The Medivia Mess (from many many years ago...)

I don't know if any of you remember it or not, but there was post made
to this newsgroup back in 2000 by a Christopher Thompson about the
"Medeivia Mess". A search on Gooble Groups can bring you up to date.

That was me. I would like to formally retract my posts and arguments
and state once and for all that what Vryce did was wrong. I have grown
older these last few years and perhaps a little wiser. I do not know
what the status of that mess was to this very day, but I would like to
hope that something was done about it. Any info anyone has on the
status of that would be well recieved. To those of you who remember, I
would like to profess my apologies. Property, real or not, belongs to
the creator and those who steal it and violate it's intended purposes
should pay.

Oh, and everyone knew you were wrong before. Vryce was and is still
believed to be a total scumbag. Anyone patronizing, let alone playing
Medievia is an idiot. Not only are there much better games to play
that give credit to those great Danes who started it all, but if you
ever looked at the publicly-available code for Medievia...it's awful.
I'm no master coder by any means but...cripes.

2. Are you sure it's quoted from Medievia's code?

I'm not looking to start a discussion on this again. Anyone who wants
to see what each side has can simply Google any number of terms.

What I hate is that no one can offer substantial evidence, yet people
assume it's true. Sure, perhaps it is true, maybe it isn't? Maybe a
coder wanted publicity.

To play Medievia is to be an idiot? Please. 1. Medievia might have
something many other MUD's can't offer, and that's players,
compitition, and perhaps community?

I'm betting that those that blindly accept this "Medthievia" theory
hasn't even played Medievia. As unoriginal as all of it's features
sounds, it is greatly addicting.

I am not advertising Medievia, but an open mind. To play the MUD is one
thing, to pay for it. If you don't want to support what you believe is
theft, then don't play. But don't be bashing someone elses pride and
joy. I believe in correcting the wrong doing, but this is just plain
slander. Period.

If you really want to do some good, support a lawsuit, or
investigation. Last I knew, the original creators didn't want to "sue"
for anything simply because it cost too much, otherwise it would
happen. You want an investigation, you go right ahead, fund it.

Only thing this whole thing brought about was the death of the MUD.
